Born in Moscow. Lives and works in Moscow and New York. Holds a Ph.D. in Philology from Moscow State University with the thesis "Interaction between Word and Image in TV Journalism". Producer, TV journalist, video maker, media art curator, founding director of Art Media Center "TV Gallery" (1991). Realized a vast variety of TV programs, documentaries, videos and curatorial projects. Participated at the international shows and festivals in Russia, Spain, Germany, Croatia, Canada and USA. Recipient of numerous grants and fellowships. Additionally, Ms. Zaretskaya has been involved in educational work and has lectured and written extensively on contemporary art.
